Congratulations to Gary Passer and the #16P team on achieving 10th in the OSCAAR standings for 2007 with a total of 2309 points. This year was the 3rd time in four seasons that Passer has made it into the top ten in OSCAAR Championship points.
Before racing began in May, the Passers were busy getting two cars ready for the first race of the season. New for Gary Passer was the recently purchased Outlaw 16P car and trailer from the USA. Roy Passer picked up the #52 car that Gary drove in 2006 and put his traditional #27 on it. Last year was not the best racing season in Gary’s career with several setbacks limiting him to a part-time schedule. Roy on the other hand enjoyed a full season that put him in the 2006 top ten.
Racing in the Jenco Equipment #16P Outlaw proved to be a challenge. The team worked steadily at getting the handle on it. Their efforts paid off with a season best finish of 4th at Sauble Speedway. The August race at Kawartha presented a huge challenge for the team when the 16P rear-end failed. After a trip off track to secure the necessary replacement parts and some nifty wrench work, Gary Passer was able to make the field for the feature and pull off a top ten finish. Passer didn’t get the season he was hoping for with his new car but the entire team can be proud of the efforts which resulted in another top ten appearance.
