The Canadian Motorsports Expo is up next and runs from January 22nd to the 24th, 2010, at the International Centre, Toronto. This is a great show to help kick off the year in racing. Glenn Butt and the gang at CME have put together a terrific line-up of racing exhibits and celebrities including Matt Kenseth and Ron Fellows. The weekend starts off with the much anticipated release of the Spencer Lewis’ Ontario Asphalt Power Rankings on Friday evening at 7pm. Race fans will no doubt remember the animated and knowledgeable OSCAAR announcing by Spencer at tracks like Sunset and Kawartha. He will be announcing the 2nd annual driver rankings with a formal on-stage presentation including driver appearances. Catching Spencer’s performance is worth the price of admission on its own!
Last year, Glenn Watson and Jeff Hanley made the list, taking 4th and 1st respectively. There is anticipation about the return appearances by the #22 and #70 drivers, but Brandon Watson with a couple of strong runs in the #9 Outlaw, will very likely make an appearance given his red hot performances and multiple wins in Limited Late Model, Late Model and ACT.
While OSCAAR won’t have a booth at CME, there will be 2010 schedules hot off the press and available for pick-up at the supporting race track booths. We can all do our part to show support to CME and Inside Track by attending the show. I’ll be there Friday evening for sure – hope to see you there!
