Peterborough Speedway

The recent hot weather makes it hard to believe but here we are already in September as OSCAAR travels to Peterborough for the 10th event of 2010. Racing on Saturday September 4th with Sunday as a rain date, the Super Late Models will complete the traditional suite of 2, 10 lap heat races and a 50 lap feature race.

Glenn Watson remains on top with a Championship points lead of 179 over 2nd place Mike Beyore. Jeff Dunford, Lloyd Ritchie and Derrick Tiemersma round out the top 5. Tiemersma made the biggest gain after his win at Mosport jumping from 8th to 5th. Taking a break from racing back in July took the 7 Team out of contention for the Championship but it sure brought the 7 car back to life. The hard work of tearing the car down and re-building has paid off with a 2nd and 1st in their two races since the break.

Dave Taylor

Mike Bricknell heads to Peterborough after season high 4th place finish at Mosport. Dave Taylor Racing had an important role to play in Mike’s success. Now it’s Dave’s turn as this weekend marks the debut for Dave Taylor in his new 2010 Howe Camaro #51 Outlaw Super Late Model. Taylor has a long history with OSCAAR including being one of the founding members and he is really looking forward to racing again.

  • News Update: Friday September 3: Dave Taylor’s new race car was damaged today during a test session and unfortunately he won’t be able to race this weekend as planned. Best of luck to Dave and his team as they get back to work on the car.

Larry Jackson

West Lee Talons just announced that Larry Jackson will be driving the #21 Outlaw at Peterborough Speedway. Many race fans already know Jackson who has a winning tradition in Late Model and Modified divisions including the 2007 Late Model Championship at Kawartha Speedway. Talons looks forward to spending time preparing the car and improving other aspects of the race team and also looks forward to Jackson driving his #21 Super Late Model car.

Racing starts at 6pm and don’t forget the traditional pre-race corn roast hosted jointly by OSCAAR and Peterborough Speedway. Keep tabs on the  OSCAAR website as race time approaches to check on weather updates. If required, Sunday is the rain date.
